For The Love of Pets Pantry
helping our Seniors keep their pets
fed, healthy and at home
AC ARF has teamed up with the Senior Center in Clinton and SARG to provide our county’s low income seniors with pet food/supplies/preventatives/medical care. For The Love of Pets Pantry is based at the Senior Center in Clinton. Donations are distributed on the 2nd Monday of each month to low-income Anderson County seniors.
For many seniors, a dog or cat is more than a pet. They are family members, providing friendship, joy and a reason to live, and studies have shown that pets lower illness levels and mortality rates. Unfortunately, caring for a pet can be difficult when living on a fixed income at or under the poverty level. Some seniors sacrifice their own needs to keep their pets while others are faced with giving up their pets because they are unable to provide for them, and their beloved pet ends up at the shelter. This needs-based program helps keep people and their companion animals together.
